In short: Ceppty keeps your receipts on your phone. No account, no ads, no tracking. Data only leaves your phone when you choose to send it: a report about a receipt the app can't read, or something you share yourself.

Who we are

What data the app uses

Receipts you add. The app reads the text from the PDF or photo (store, date, products, prices, discounts) and stores it in a database on your phone.
Your settings, such as your own categories and the category you give a product.

The app does not keep the PDF or photo for long: the copy of a PDF is deleted once it has been read; a photo stays on your phone until you confirm the receipt, at most 30 days. Your original file stays where it was.

What we don't do

No account or sign-in.
Nothing is sent in the background — the app only connects to the internet when you tap “Send report”.
No analytics, no crash reporting, no ads, no tracking.
No selling or passing data to third parties.

Reports about a receipt

If the app reads a receipt incorrectly, you can send us a report. Before sending you choose what it contains: the receipt text, technical details about how the app read it, and — only if you tick it and the receipt isn't confirmed yet — the photo itself. You can also write briefly what is wrong. A photo shows everything printed on the receipt. The app removes loyalty card and payment card numbers from the text before sending. You can add a name so we know who you are; there is no account. Each report also carries a random number the app creates once on your phone, so we can tell reports from the same phone apart and stop abuse. It is not your phone's advertising or device ID.

The report goes to our own server in the EU. We use it only to fix how the app reads receipts, keep it for at most 90 days and then delete it. To have your report deleted sooner, email us the report number the app shows after sending. We don't keep your IP address. If our server can't be reached, you try again later; the report is never sent by email or any other way. Our hosting provider and GitHub (where we track the fix, without the receipt text or file) process reports only on our behalf. We don't sell reports or share them with anyone else. After we fix a problem we may keep a short anonymised excerpt — products, prices, date and store branch, without names or card numbers — as test data, so the app keeps reading such receipts correctly.

When you share something yourself

You can also send files through your phone's share menu, for example an export of your spending. This only happens when you choose to, and you choose who receives it.

Deleting your data

You can delete receipts in the app. Uninstalling the app erases all of its data from your phone. We don't have a copy.

Children

The app is not meant for children and asks nobody for personal details.
